Meet the Team
Owner & Founder
Maggie opened the Pottery Place over 20 years ago inspired by offering a space where absolutely anyone could create something beautiful, regardless of artistic background. Nowadays, the Pottery Place is a much-loved Witney institution. Maggie splits her time between pottery and her sister studio The Indian Block Print Co. near Bicester, which she runs with her two daughters Tess and Annabel and several original Pottery Place Saturday members!
Pottery Artist and Painting Workshop Lead
Sarah is our in-house artist, alongside Kiela, and our creative studio assistant. During her time with us she has created a huge variety of commissioned paintings from dog portraits, to landscapes to intricate wedding designs.
She loves a new challenge, so if you have a unique or wacky idea in mind, pop in and speak to her to help bring your vision to life!
In her spare time, Sarah undertakes personalised hand-drawn commissions and digital artwork and has started getting involved in local craft fairs to sell her work.
Pottery Artist and Creative Studio Assistant
Kiela started out as one of our Saturday girls in 2021. Fast forward a couple of years, she is now our full-time pottery artist and studio assistant. If you order a commission or from Etsy, it could well be Kiela's beautiful artwork you receive.
With a smile on her face and a great sense of humour, you'll have a lovely painting experience with Kiela helping you.
Creative Studio Assistant
Meet the delightful Jessica. When she's not busy being a mum to her young family, she's here, brightening up the studio with her bubbly and welcoming personality. With her infectious enthusiasm, Jess is always ready to make your pottery painting experience a memorable one. From helping you choose the perfect colours to offering creative tips, she'll ensure you leave with a smile on your face and a masterpiece in hand.
