What can you do?  
We have loads to offer! You can:

  • Get creative with Pottery Painting, Mosaics, Decopatch or Block Printing.
 
  • Our littlest artists can join in the fun and make some beautiful pieces with their hand and footprints.
 
  • If you'd like a bit more guidance, we run regular workshops throughout the year for both adults and children - check out our workshops.

Generally it's fine to pop in, and we always do our best to accommodate everyone, but it doesn't hurt to ring ahead and book at weekends and holidays - give us a call on 01993 704234.
Pottery Painting
Paint Your Own Pottery is where it all started for us in 2001! We've got a huge selection of blank pottery just waiting for you to pop in and bring it to life.  Come and have a go - we have mugs, plates, bowls, trinket pots, soap bottles, vases, flower pots, figurines, money boxes, bunting and so much more!  Once you have finished painting we will glaze and fire your pottery in our kiln and have it ready for you in a couple of days.  There is no glazing or studio fee, and prices start from £5.

If you would like to paint at home that's no problem! You're welcome to hire a take out kit complete with the paints, brushes and sponges and writer pens, for £10.  We ask for a fully refundable £50 deposit to ensure that the kit comes back, ready for other people to use. Feel free to ask for more details.

Decopatch
Decopatch is the fab, multicoloured paint-without-paint technique, a papercraft that works on just about everything we've ever tried! Simply choose your papers, cut or tear them into small pieces, coat your object with some glue varnish, pop the paper piece on and paint a thin coat of glue varnish over the top - like papier mache but much much prettier.

We have a variety of kits (starting from just £5.00) to take home or do in the shop for an additional studio fee of £2.50. Your Decopatched item is ready to take home the same day. 

And if you find you are hooked you can get all your supplies from our online craft supplies store, The Arty Crafty Place and have them delivered right to your door, or back to The Pottery Place to pick up at your convenience.up from us.
Mosaics
We've always loved Mosaics. Our Mosaics shelf looks a bit like a sweet shop, with all the gorgeous tiles, nuggets and jewels in glass jars. We have a variety of boards in different shapes, choose which you like best and then you can start playing with the tiles and creating your own work of art. Once you are happy, stick them down and we'll give you a little bag of grout to take home and finish off your mosaic.  This one is always popular with the grown-ups too, pushing little tiles around is very therapeutic!  Prices for Mosaics start from £13.00 and your mosaic is ready to take home the same day.
Block Printing
You can now do Block Printing in our studio. We've got a gorgeous range of hand carved Indian wooden printing blocks, fabric paints and fabric blanks. Using our simple but stunningly effective techniques, you can create amazing results. This craft is best suited to over 8 year olds and costs around £15 per head. We offer this particular craft by appointment only, so please call us on 01993 704234 to book.
